Challenge

Help CWE simultaneously improve morale and turnover amongst internal employees, while recruiting externally to fill multiple open positions.

Strategy

1. A multi-pronged approach to drive company loyalty amongst existing employees and generate positive interactions

  1. Increase communications with a mobile workforce regarding HR matters.
  2. Create an employee-centric program including community involvement, enhanced workplace safety, bonus distributions, new hire announcements and employee recognition
  3. Implement fun and social activities to foster a positive workplace environment and drive coworker interaction

2. A comprehensive digital campaign, utilizing social media, Google ads and Indeed.com to attract quality, skilled workers who would further elevate the company and stay long-term, despite a wage competitive industry and sometimes hazardous working conditions

Activation

Employee Engagement:

  • SlickText SMS messaging was employed to keep a highly mobilized organization informed and connected
  • Referral bonuses were instituted to reward employees for bringing in new hires
  • Social events such as BBQs, ice cream socials and lunch boxes were activated
  • New hire announcements were communicated
  • Employee accomplishments were highlighted
  • Community support opportunities were offered to employees
  • Safety in the workplace was repositioned to further emphasize employee protections

Recruitment:

  • Targeted digital advertising plan included SEO, digital advertising and social media
  • Improved website content delivered robust careers page with application process, updated content on mission, values, history, benefits, and employee testimonials
  • Revamped job board presence for maximized effectiveness and SEO
  • Rewritten job descriptions clarified roles, responsibilities, cultural expectations and benefits
  • New content provided general articles and technical blogs on key positions and employment topics
